The main funding of this project comes from the National Science Foundation, grant DBI-0109732 from the Plant Genome Program.

The Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation cost-shares a QTOF mass spectrometer and supplies a range of other genomics and proteomics equipment. The Foundation also funded the annual workshops.

The Virginia Bioinformatics Institute supplies use of its Core Computational Facility, including multi-processor servers and backup services.

Sun Microsystems provided discounted hardware for this project. VBI is a Sun Center of Excellence for Bioinformatics
